DISPUTING INACCURACIES

In order to dispute inaccurate information on a credit report, you must present evidence of the error to the credit reporting companies.  Generally, all three of the following must be given:

1. Supporting documentation for your claims of inaccurate information.
2. A copy of your credit report that is affected by the inaccurate information.
3. A letter that should include the following:

• Full Name
• Complete Up-To-Date Mailing Address
• Social Security Number (SSN)
• Name and Account Number of Subject Creditor
• Creditor's Item In Question
• Reason For Disagreement
• Your Signature

NOTE: The letter assures them to reexamine your credit report, but it does not guarantee that modifications will be made to your credit report. The credit reporting agencies will get in touch with you if modifications are made within 30 days of receiving your claims.
